It's all about Perspective, Patience, and Gratitude.

You beg for them, choke on the other stuff that's been poisoning you, and then cry it all out, making room. And then eventually you just CHOOSE.

It starts with after 4 days tiring of hearing the panic and fear in your own voice. And then watching it spread like a wildfire to others, 'til you can see it in THEIR eyes. And finally watching every bit of energy you once had tumbling off down the turbulent path past your own lips. Gasping, then. Hoping to call it all back. Feeling reckless and exhausted.

So you decide to fast from speech.
Take a vow of silence for the weekend.
To restore the sweetness.

And suddenly, there it is--the earth beneath your feet. And you can't believe how still life seems, like a rollercoaster ride coming to a stop. And though in the morning you fought the urge to call your mom and tell her your relief and joy, now you never want to speak again.

Silence is today a haven for a fiery, wind-filled mind, tired of fighting the tides.
