Tomorrow is officially for us "Hallelujah! It's Lord of the Rings for Christmas Again" DAY.

We're so excited. Even if we had snow and lights and trees and presents and ice-skating and Frank Sinatra and carols here, we'd still be holding out for Lord of the Rings. We've been counting down since, well, last Christmas, but officially since early November. Luckily for us, these gigantic films are released worldwide in English. We'll just put up with Korean, not English, subtitles for the Elvish. We haven't been to a movie yet here, but we plan on seeing Lord of the Rings at least 4 times--this weekend.

I mean, the movie has framed our life during the past year in the most brilliant, magical of ways. It has given us courage and strength and vision to fight our own beasts and create our own paths in ways that all good epic tales and legends are bred to do.

For those of you who cannot imagine sponging up courage and powerful images and metaphors from the silver screen, I offer this example: At the VERY LEAST, we'll never be able to walk a forest of any kind again without pulling out air bows and arrows like Legolas and sending them in 2s and 3s while in a dead run.

And I won't even talk about Galadriel.

It's Christmas all over again, ck [2002-12-17]
