We woke up this morning to cleaner air for once. Beautiful, soft rain.

Celeste and I have agreed to teach morning classes for an extra $50 a month. This means that Tuesdays and Thursdays we are in the class room by 7:00. All we have to do is roll out of bed and walk next door to the school. The students have the task to show up to English class before their long day of school. Most often they are less than excited to be there in the morning and frankly I don't blame them.

After class, 8:00, we decided to walk to the store. We splashed in the puddles and talked about going to Japan, China, Jeju Island, Thailand, and all the other places we've hoped to visit since we decided to come to Korea.

The city is waking up--slowly, like from a hang-over;the way it did yesterday morning, the morning before that, and on and on since forever. The sky opens up to a pastel orange, the sun hidden behind building, clouds, and hills. Pairs of schoolkids in their proper, plaid uniforms walk to their destination, their heads bowed, almost silent. And this is life. Well, life for Taejun. It's new for me and this morning is me waking up with wide eyes, still looking about and finding my place in it.

We have found an internet cafe and take shelter from the orange sky to dwell with the techno- underground with its constant surge and buzzing.
