"And bless that Celeste and I can find our way around Manhattan tomorrow."

That was Scott's jetlagged prayer our first night in Korea. I couldn't help myself. I laughed outloud, and then we both grabbed our guts (after I explained to Scott what he had said--he never would've noticed himself) and laughed ourselves (quickly) into a deep sleep.

Today the universe kept its promise. A teacher here suspected our needs and took us to a vegetarian restaurant in town. With absolutely NO expectations, we followed her up the street and into the most beautiful, clean, quiet little place. No smells, in fact. I can't recall the smell, so it must've been good. It was like stepping into a painting. And immediately, there was Enya. Enya in Korea. Absolutely amazing. The sun poured into the room as this Korean teacher showed us all the fresh teas and vegetable juices and fresh, nummy foods and such. The place translates to the Green Land (or Earth), or the Blue Sky Land. Perfect.

Her propriety kept me from crying or screaming, but i beamed. Land, she was a blessing. She is into meditation and yoga and hiking and singing. I told her she was my Korean (subdued) twin.

Scott and I felt like a little window of light opened up on us here. Like we stepped into a place we had been searching for. LIke we found help when we needed it. She then invited us to some meditation retreat or other in a few weekends and hiking mountains this weekend. And to her little Korean yoga studio as soon as possible.

Patience pays off. I knew we had followed some good wisdom coming here, and now it followed through. The lunch today was cheaper than purchasing food and trying to make it ourselves (and miserably failing), and so we'll go there nearly everyday (it's close by--again, thank you).

Scott played Sesame Street for my class tonight. We sang along. All of the teachers are wide-eyed at our unconventional teaching methods here, especially the Korean ones. But we just can't help ourselves. We must be who we are and so teach as who we are.

Trust in those open doors, Celeste. Come from abundance, not scarcity.
