I think that if Barry Manalow were to visit Korea, he'd be horrified to hear that most of his melodies have been stolen and are in full force in Korean pop music. Maybe this is why everything I've heard here is amazingly predictable. To write a song here you need three things, 1) a Barry Manalow melody (of course), 2) a disco-tango beat, and 3) a singer with a licence to wield a virbrato the size of a small state--the more melowdramatic the better.
